There are many Vietnamese restaurants in the Bay Area, but not so many Northern Vietnamese cuisine. Pho Ha Noi is specialized in northern Vietnamese cuisine. It’s also my favorite Vietnamese restaurant in the Bay Area! They have a large variety of items on the menu and they are constantly refined. I come here once in a while and there is always something new that pleasantly surprise me! Currently they open outdoor seating with lovely flower décor and heat lamps.

Pork grilled rolls: grilled pork, vegetables and vermicelli wrapped inside paper-thin rice skin. There is this crispy thing in the middle added to the texture, which I really enjoyed!
Shrimp spring rolls: classic Vietnamese snacks. Their rice skin is thinner than paper but still chewy, which is quite amazing!
Crab meat fried spring rolls: these spring rolls have very thin skin with crunchy texture. They are stuffed with real crab meat, shrimp, pork, red peppers, carrots and vermicelli. Love that sweet and spicy sauce came with it. It also came with a large plate of green vegetables and fresh herbs. Wrap the spring roll and herbs with the lettuce and dip them in a sweet spicy sauce. Delicious and healthy!
Braised beef Ribs: this is my go-to place for braised ribs! Perfect lean/fat ratio, so tender that meat just fall off from the bone. Somedays when I have that craving for meat, this always hit the spot!
Rice noodle Cambodian style with prawn, squid, pork, intestines, fresh herbs, bone broth on the side.  This can be enjoyed in two ways: mix the noodle and seafood with the delicious sauce to eat it dry and drink the soup on the side. Or you can pour the bone broth in and enjoy it as noodle soup. The meaty bones in the soup are also super delicious! The noodle in this dish is rather chewy, and I really love that texture.
Grass jelly with basil seeds and coconut juice. I really enjoy this drink! There is a slight mediciney taste from the grass jelly, very refreshing.  
Sam Bo Luong: this is a dessert drink with Chinese herbs and dried fruit. It has a ton of great ingredients in it, just a tad too sweet to me! Hope they could adjust the sweetness level next time.
Shaking beef: Rib eye cube steak, bell-pepper, and onion. Classic Vietnamese dish! The seasoning of the beef is on point! I have eaten the rice version before and loved it. The new version came with organic pasta, which is very chewy! Both versions are delicious
Roasted chicken with crispy sticky rice cake: Free-range chicken coated with honey, red onion, and garlic, marinated for several hours and then roasted. Skin is crispy and the meat is super tender and juicy. flavor is savory and slightly sweet. The grilled crispy sticky rice cake is crunchy like rice cracker!
Rare flank steak Pho & Chicken Pho: Different from the common southern Vietnamese pho, the northern Pho is simmered with beef bone soup or chicken soup and then the oil is skimmed off. There are more fresh herbs and ginger added to the soup, which is very refreshing. The rice noodle here is freshly made in house, really love the silky and springy texture! The beef pho uses high-quality rare flank steak meat, super tender and flavorful! The chicken in the chicken pho is very juicy and enticing. Sprinkle with fresh basil and bean sprouts, squeeze a few drops of lime juice, super satisfying! My Vietnamese friend said this is as good as Vietnamese homemade pho!
     
Overall, I really love this place, it never disappoint! I heard they opened another store in Cupertino, I’d check it out ASAP!
