  1. You BOTH are HILARIOUS discussing the differences of the North & South Pho. I don’t know if I could choose. They both look AWESOME!! I’d have to taste them both.

  2. Had a Vietnamese friend who owned a pho restaurant. She was North Vietnamese so she wanted to cook north Vietnamese pho for me as she considered me her special friend. It tasted kind of sweet to me. I preferred the one she cooked for her restaurant better.

  3. Pho is known to the world as a noodle dish according to the processing method of southern Vietnam. it's surprising that the southern accent is popular even though the communists regulate the northern accent lol. The most developed place in Vietnam is Saigon, the representative city of the South, not the capital of the North, they are just living on the money of the South.

  4. Haha. Hard to say whether south or north is better as the ways in which pho is made vary between individuals who cook it. Definitely a taste preference thing.

  5. Pho was originally developed to satisfy the beef eating Frenchmen. The beef produced way back was very stringy and almost inedible; hence pho.

  6. Northern pho is authentic. Period. It originated from the city of Nam Dinh Vietnam and then spread to other regions in Vietnam. Everyone has their right to choose which one they like better but no doubt in the origins…

  7. The mysterious herb is “ngò ôm” and the long herb it’s culantro in Mexican Spanish used in Mexican cuisine as well.

  8. I lived in Vietnam from 65 to 70 . The best Pho we had was from a Pho cart that would pass by our home in Vungtau . My Vietnamese wife buys the bones and makes her own broth for the Pho . I love it , never had the Hanoi Pho . Y
